Photos above: from the top, left: Card 1 & Card 3. Bottom left, Card 2 & Card 4. This coincides with the direction sheet (PDF) I made for my class.
Cards 1 - 4 use a single base:
These cards can be as simple as one layer of Designer paper - or your choice of double sided paper - folded in a particular way; embellished with an image and then a sentiment inside. Each is a great way to use a variety of cuts of DSP (Designer Series Paper).
For a beginner card maker who may be just beginning to invest in supplies, each pattern will show that one package of 12x12" DSP and one package of cardstock will create many cards - "Let the paper do the work", and as many as 70+ cards. The cost is about $25.
Here is the 4 Card Swatch 1, and a short description to each. Look for more 4 Card Swatches in the future.
CARD #1 DOUBLE POINT CARD
This design is good for using 3x4 pieces of double-sided
papers. Card 1 the Fitting Florets Designer papers and dies. (Available through December or while supplies last, 2022)
Use TWO – 3x4” pieces, folded to a point and tucked under a
5 ¼” x 4” white layer. Choose a die cut
or sentiment tag as your front center piece. Stamp or write a note underneath
it.
(CASed from Karen Titus.)
SUPPLIES:
12 – 3x4” pieces from 1 –
12x12. 12 pages in a pkg, 144 in a pkg, 2 for each
card equals 72 cards/pkg. plus your cardstock.
Cut one piece to add to the card base
Cut one Designer or double-sided paper at 3 ¾” x 7” piece
then score and fold at 2- 3” from the left side.
Put two white layers on the inside 1 3/4 x 2 3/4”. Then attach
to the base. Put a stamped image,
sentiment tag or die cut on the front as the centerpiece of your card.
Approximately 21 (3 per page) from 1 pkg. OR……. change the measurements to 3 x 6” (2 out
of one 6x6), and fold the front at 2". Cut the white layers at 1 3/4" x 2 3/4".
SUPPLIES:
That equals 8/page x 12 pages = 96 cards from 1 pkg, plus your cardstock.
Card #3 FOLD OVER
Use ONE 4x6 piece of double-sided Designer paper. Score and fold at 2 or 2 ½” on the short
side. Glue the 2" piece to the back so that it
folds over the front of the card base from the left. Use exactly like this or turn to use in the
landscape position. Add die cuts or
stamped images to the front, or inside.
(If you cut ONE 12x12 piece of Designer paper in 4x6 pieces,
you’ll get 6 pieces. If you decide to
cut the whole package in 4x6 pieces, you would get 72 cards of this
design or similar design out of ONE pkg.
