Hello. I have had a love affair with paper my whole life, and I also love color!
Our challenge design is to use the 2024-2026 In-Colors. If you're not familiar with them, they are the five shades of color that Stampin' Up! promotes each year with the new annual catalog. They are shades from the four color families we carry and many of the new Designer Series Papers, ribbons, embellishments are of these five In-Colors. In-Colors are active for two years, so that there are one set of colors ending each spring, and one set coming on.
(Click on the pink links in this post, or the right column icons to access my Stampin' Up! website where you'll find all the products I used today, an on-line catalog, my projects and other great ideas.)
The 2024-2026 In-Colors are:
Peach Pie, Petunia Pop, Pretty in Pink, Shy Shamrock, Summer Splash
To have one of each color at your fingertips right away, while not investing in all of the products all at once, I recommend getting a package of the In-Color cardstock: 4 of each of the 5 colors, and 1 set of the Stampin' Write! markers. These are water based and can be used direct to stamp for inking an image or a sentiment stamp, or you can scribble on a lucite block, spritz with water, and paint with the ink. If you're interested in the ink pads, during May of 2024, you can get them free with the JOIN my Team offer you'll find here.
I love paper quilting and when I saw the new embossing folder, Cute Crochet 3D Embossing Folder, I was excited to try it either as an overall quilted look or as separate squares like I've designed for today's project.
I wouldn't have put these two colors together - Peach Pie and Petunia Pop - a purple and light orange - but I like them! What do you think?
To start the challenge, I used the Cute Crochet 3D Embossing folder with cardstock measuring 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" in the Petunia Pop, and Peach Pie. Here's how the images look on the Peach Pie.
Next, I cut the embossed design into squares along the edges of the design. I didn't have a clue how the pattern was going to come together.
Glue the paper quilted layer to the white and finally attach it to the Petunia Pop base.
I stamped my sentiment "Sending Thanks" on a small piece of white, glued it to the rectangle tag, then added a white butterfly. I thought the body of the butterfly needed a color, but black was too stark so I colored it with Petunia Pop and added black over the top. I think the embossed white rectangle and the butterfly really make the card design pop.
This photo was taken in the afternoon sun, so while it looks like a dark wing, its a shadow!Do you think you'll play with the Cute Crochet 3D Embossing Folder and design your own paper quilting squares? I encourage you to do it! Also view the color wheel in the New Annual Catalog and see what interesting color combinations you can come up with.
